Bluebonnet Airshow '08

The Bluebonnet Airshow is held annually at Burnet Muncipal Airport in Burnet, Texas. I attended for the first time last year: the show was small and comfortable, but marred by inclement weather, which kept some displays away and the Mig-17 on the ground. This year’s show was threatened by now-shows due to a tornado in Breckenridge, but overall was much longer. The Mig-17 got to fly, the A-10 West demo team was there and got to fly, there were more airplanes, and we were treated to a world-class formation-acrobatics routine by a couple of T-34Bs, the “Trojan Flight.”

For a low-stress, high-quality event with friendly, small crowds, this airshow can’t be beat.
